Nico's trip to the beach

When we were in Texas, Nico made his first trip to the beach. We went down to Cassie's parents' beach house in Bolivar for the afternoon, and can I say WOW! What a beach house! We got Nico all dressed in his swim shirt. I decided not to put his diaper on him yet since they're only meant to hold poo and not pee and i really didn't want to get wet just yet. We carried his Bumbo chair down for him to sit in because I wasn't sure exactly how he would feel about the sand. Well, he LOVED it!
This was him taking a big bite of sand. It was so funny to watch. After he'd get a handful of sand in his mouth, he grab the towel and wipe it out. Then he'd get more sand and wipe it out again. Silly boy. After a little time in the sand, we decided to take him down to the water. First we just sat him at the edge of the water in his chair.

He wasn't quite sure what to think about it. Then I carried him into the water a little way and let the waves come over him a bit. He was not a fan of that at all! Poor baby just cried. This was the best shot we could get.

We had to head back to the house not long after because he was just too upset. Hopefully he'll like it better by next summer! He got a bath as soon as we got back to the house and I think we left half the beach in the tub! He was full of sand.
Oh, he did make a couple of new friends too. This is Ella, Cassie's niece.
She loved him and he had lots of fun with her too. His other new friend was Lola.
Doesn't he look like he's having fun? I'm not so sure how much fun Lola was having, however.
AND Nico got to meet his Aunt Amy for the first time!

This was us waiting for the ferry. As you can see, Nico is zonked. He had a really full day playing in the sand and meeting new friends.
