Long weekend

John's cousin got married in eastern Washington this weekend so we got to make a road trip. It was about a 3 hour drive there. We had originally thought about staying the night, but by the time we were actually going to book a hotel, we found out that there were no rooms left in all of Moses Lake. Oh well, I'm actually kind of glad we decided to come home. Ryan and Miranda rode with us, so that was actually a big help with Nico. They were able to entertain him along the way. He did pretty well on the way there. He got a little restless during the wedding (it was a full mass), so I took him out into the foyer and let him play on the floor for a while. We went to the reception for a bit. It was so hot inside the reception hall. There were so many people crammed into a pretty small space, but it was nice. The bride and groom seemed to be having a good time, so that's the important thing. Here's Nico enjoying a cigar with Grandpa.
Mike insisted we get a picture of this. Not long after this, I stripped Nico down to a t shirt and diaper because he was just sweltering.

He was MUCH more comfortable this way.
On our way home we decided to stop off in Roslyn to see where they filmed Northern Exposure. (And to feed the baby!) It was really cool. We saw The Brick (Holling's restaurant), where Fleishman's office was, where Ruth's store was, and of course the Roslyn Cafe that the moose walks in front of during the intro.

Of course my eyes are closed in this one! Here's a better one of Nico and me.

Nico pretty much crashed on the way home.

Isn't he sweet?

On Sunday, we went to the Taste of Tacoma. It's held down at Point Defiance, and there are tons of food vendors as well as lots of arts and crafty kind of stuff. It was fun, but it was pretty warm out. I had to slather Nico with sunscreen so he didn't burn. We had a good time though.

I love this picture of us. It might be the best family shot we've ever taken! After that long weekend, Nico and I are just taking it easy today around the house.
