The big poop

Nico had a pretty good night last night. He slept until about 4:30, when I went in to feed him. He on back to sleep and didn't wake up until about 7:30. When he woke up, he was just talking (saying "Da da da da"), so we decided to leave him in there for a while. John finally went in to get him at about 7:50 and found a HUGE mess. Actually, huge doesn't even begin to describe it. I guess you'll just have to see for yourself.

Now he hadn't pooped in almost 3 days, so I knew it was going to be a big one when he did. I had NO idea it'd be this big. These pictures were taken after I had removed his diaper. The camera was kind of an after thought, but I just had to document this. (I also edited them to protect the innocent.) It's kind of shocking that it was this messy, because we truly NEVER have blowouts with cloth diapers. Needless to say, Nico got a nice bath this morning and everything in his crib got washed. Oh, and poor Cookie Monster (his favorite toy) had to be thrown away. It was a very sad moment. John actually went to Babies R Us on his way to the law library this morning to see if he could find a new one, but they didn't have any. I guess Nico will have to find a new favorite toy.

Babies sit in their poop when they're wearing a diaper, so a little poop isn't going to kill him. And like she said, she cleaned it up. The baby isn't living in it. She was just showing us what happened. Like she said, she's documenting and sharing all the details of her baby's life. If you don't like that, you don't have to read it. She's not a bad parent because she let her kid sit on the poop for a few seconds. Bath time came next. Like she said. So, cool your jets.
