Lions and tigers and vacuums, oh no!

Nico has developed a severe aversion to the vacuum cleaner lately. It never seemed to bother him in the past, but in the past few weeks it's become an issue. I first tried to vacuum while he was sitting in his bouncy toy in the kitchen. When he saw it come close, he freaked out. Next I tried to vacuum while he napped. Yep, woke him up. When he was smaller he'd sleep right through it. So, I decided to try wearing him. He'd always done well with this in the past. I put him in the Ergo and started it up. Poor baby, it scared him so badly he jumped. But he didn't cry so that was an improvement. At first he kind of watched it, then he just put his face into my chest and held on with his arms until I turned it off. At least he seems to feel safe when I'm wearing him, because I definitely have to vacuum! Especially now that he's moving all over the place. He spends almost all of his time on the floor these days rolling and "crawling" around. I'm just glad he loves being in a carrier (the Moby, sling or Ergo). It really helps me get things done around the house.

Poor baby. Vacuum when John is at home. Or better yet get John to vacuum and you take NICO outside or something.
