A camping we will go

Last weekend we went camping in Sequim with John's cousin and some of his friends. This was Nico's first camping trip. The kid loved it. He loves all things outdoors, and sleeping in a tent was no different. We didn't arrive at the campsite until late Friday night because John had a softball game that evening. When we got there, it was WAY past Nico's bedtime and he had been asleep in the car for most of the trip. Of course, once we got the tent set up and everything, there was no getting this kid back to sleep. He was far too excited. It was after 1 a.m. before he finally fell asleep. The next morning we got up and took the kids down to the water. Nico was totally fearless. He took off and would have walked right into the water if I hadn't stopped him. And that water is COLD!!! I guess maybe he was remembering Florida and how much fun he had at the beach. We spent quite a while down there throwing rocks in the water and looking at crabs. We ended up heading home that evening because John had a brunch scheduled with one of his clients on Sunday, but I'm really looking forward to taking Nico camping again.

Here we are down by the water.

And here are the kids playing by the campsite.

And Nico by the tent.

We saw some really funny signs.

And just because I thought this series of photos was funny
