Victoria: Day 2

On our second day in Victoria, we decided to rent bikes and ride along the coast. It was BEAUTIFUL! I started out pulling Nico in a bike trailer. It was not easy. After I almost ran into a parked car (with the driver sitting it it!) my dad decided to switch me bikes. The trail that we rode on, which wasn't really a trail but just the road that went along the coast, was fairly flat. Thank goodness! There were a few sections that had some fair size hills. Since we're all pretty out of shape, we ended up walking up some of them.

Here we are at one of the places we pulled off. It was such a beautiful view. You can't tell from the picture, but you could see the mountains beyond the water. And the houses that we rode past were so nice. It would be a great neighborhood to live in! We rode up to a little village where there were lots of little shops and pubs. It was really a cute place. Nico slept through a lot of the ride.

We tried putting a helmet on him but it was just too big. It fell down over his eyes and made him cry. All total, our ride was about 1o miles or so. I thought for sure I'd be super sore the next day, but to my surprise, I wasn't! I definitely think that bike riding would be something that John and I would enjoy doing with Nico.

Here we are on the ferry on the way home. What a great trip!
