In the Driver's Seat

We went up to Seattle this past weekend for a party and before we left town, we stopped off at the gas station to get some snacks and try to feed the Nico-man. John ran into the store and I brought Nico up to the front seat with me. He of course didn't want to eat. I can never get him to eat in the car. I think it's all of the buttons and things that he wants to play with distracting him. So, while we waited for John, Nico jumped into the driver's seat.

He had lots of fun playing up there. I had a hard time getting his attention for a picture. But he finally looked at me.

When John came back, he decided he needed to get some shots from the outside. Several people went by and looked at him like he was crazy. I guess it might look a little strange to be taking pictures of your car in the parking lot of a gas station if you couldn't see the cute baby in there! But the pictures sure turned out cute.

Needless to say, Nico was not happy when we put him back in his car seat. I think HE wanted to drive to Seattle!

On another note, we have begun to wean Nico off of his pacifier. For about the past 5 or 6 days, he's only had it at nap time and bed time. The first day, he had a small melt down and I broke down and gave it to him in the afternoon, but other than that, he's done really well. I think we'll wait awhile though before we take it away completely. Let him get used to not having it all the time first, you know. So you'll probably be seeing a lot less pictures like this.

Look at those beautiful blue eyes!
