My first pocket

Monday night some of the girls from my stay-at-home moms group got together to do some sewing. We all made a pocket diaper. Laurel, one of the girls in the group, has sewed her entire stash, so she brought some fabric and all of her expertise and helped us all make one. Now I've made a few diapers before, but only fitteds (meaning they still need a cover). This one is more like my BumGenius diapers. It's got a waterproof outer layer, a stay dry inner layer and I stuff it with an insert to make it absorbent. It actually turned out pretty cute! Here's Nico modeling it for me.

(See how happy he is to have Cookie Monster back?*)
And here's the side view.

I used a blue stitching to go with the inner fabric. It actually looks better in person than it does in the picture.
And here's one of his cute little bum!

See? It's a pretty good fit. And it's actually nice and trim under his clothes.
Now I'm working on making some diapers for little Charlotte when she stays at my house. And I got some super cute flannel today to make some more wipes. I'll have to post some pictures when I get them all finished.

*When we were in Texas, we found a new Cookie Monster at Babies R Us. My mom, Nico and I were looking at some clothes and Pam and Amy went to see if they could find a new Cookie Monster. Well they did! Nico was so excited when he saw it. The look on his face was priceless. He reached out and grabbed him and put him right in his mouth as if to say, "Hey, where have you been?" He was happy the rest of the day.
