First for the shirt:
Start with a rectangle piece of paper, not a square. The size is going to depend on how big you want the shirt to be. I started with an 8''x11'' sheet. I used a paper with a pattern that you might find on a shirt. You could also use plain white and decorate it the way you like.
1. Fold the paper in half length wise.

2. Unfold the paper and fold each side into the center fold.

3. Put the folded side down and fold down about an inch or so at the top.

4. Fold the corners into the center line, making the top edge about 1 1/2'' across.

5. Fold the bottom up and tuck it under the collar.

6. Then unfold the paper and fold each side out from the center fold line creating a triangle shape on each side.

7. Then fold the bottom back up and tuck it under the collar piece again.

There's your shirt!
Now for the tie. This time you want to use a square sheet of paper. I used a 4''x4'' sheet.
1.Fold the paper in half on the diagonal.

2.Unfold the paper, then fold each side into the center fold. It should look like a kite.

3. Turn the paper over and fold the top point down so that it is about even with the other two corners.

4. Now fold the point back up. It should come almost to the top edge.

5. Fold this piece up again. This is going to be your knot, so you want it to go up over the top edge a bit.

6. Turn it over. Fold each side in to meet at the center fold again.

And there's your tie!

Now just attach the tie to the shirt. (I used a hot glue gun.)

Then attach your shirt to some card stock, and Voila! A fun Father's Day card!
Stay tuned to see what else Nico did for Father's Day. I can't post it just yet because I don't want to ruin the surprise!
